Guys,
Atleast now start thinking about Citizenship. For getting the GC, there are lot of hurdles. Most of us are living in this country for more than a decade and still our status is "Alien". We are legally here paying lot of Tax, Social Security , Medicare Tax etc.,
Please go through my thread on Citizenship and start working on that. Instead of wasting our time on GC, let us make an important Agenda and express our views on the path to Citizenship, so that Congress will think about it.

Received following reply. I am concerend. Any body inb same boat and what can I expect next?

I guess the important thing is not to lose hope. Easier said than done. Hopefully your service request does the trick for you. How did u go about opening the request? I am in the same boat - checking status every 2 minutes :)
Seems some of us are destined to wait longer..called USCIS and got a service request requested. Not sure,at this point what else can be done (apart from checking case status daily i.e)

Instead of 140K individual green cards change to 140K Family (Primary+ Spouse + Kid(s) ) green cards.
Ability to change jobs after 2 years of 140 approval. (H1 time + LC time + I140 Time + 2 year would easily be 8+ years)

Various reasons...time...schedule...other obligations etc...lack of readily available information on IV as an organisation or state chapter....too many steps to do simple things like joining the state chapter :)
ya some of the reasons seem ridiculous...but even small things easily hinder people who already have a busy life. They create mental barriers...where such tasks are just postponed rather than handled in an instant.
I am trying to get more of IV core members to take these small things seriously and have even offered to help in this regard.
like the example of the weekly attorney call
Many like me don't have the time to search through forums as to what the number is for the call or where is the link for the chat. If its displayed on the main page "Click here to join attorney call" that would be so much easier and encourage a lot more participation.
I understand that there is lack of resources at IV to do this or address a lot of other things...but rather than being frustrated at lack of participation maybe more focus can be placed at these many small issues that need to get addressed
Please understand that i am not blaming anyone. I very much greatly appreciate the work IV puts in. Its quite a noble job where people are sacrificing their time and some of them already have their GCs

Hello Friends,
Got a chance to speak to a customer service advocate at NSC. A very nice lady looked up my case and told me the case is with an officer. She also added I will be hearing something very soon. So keeping my fingers crossed. I always wondered if the cases made to an IO only when a visa number was assigned to the case or whether the case went to the IO first and then they looked to assign a numbers. Don't know - but will hopefully hear some good news soon. Good luck to all of you.

Did you sent this letter to DOL? Some of us have been sending a template letter to DOL with the same concerns http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19432 so far a replied letter from them has been received but no action further on. I am planning to push a letter out to more DOL personnel (Inspector General -Gordon S. Heddell- and Mr. James Aaron, of the Employment and Training Administration)

renewal applied by mail to CG SFO, got the new one to my mailing address in US, on the fifth day.
the 10 days estimate they are giving might be including the buffer time for contingencies and
contacting vizag might be the worst case scenario they are telling, but most probably not needed.
i later learned that, u can renew ur PP in India in 3 days, with Tatkal.

Maybe this has been discussed earlier but I was wondering if we can extend our funding champaign beyond the conventional website.
How about setting up booths/tents/tables(what the heck) at local temples(or any places of worship where we know immigrant community would visit) in the area on the weekends. This way we can educate fellow immigrants about immigrationvoice and try to get contributions.
It might sound stupid but what I want to ask is , Is it legal for a Nonprofit org to do this ? By this I mean promote IV and collect contributions in the way I described above ?

My wife, my daughter and I went to talk to our Representative Moran and our Senator Webb, but they are interested in numbers, cases, especially Virginia residents; but I think that this is something national. We (my family, I and anyone who wants to join us) can go to the office of the Leader of the Senate Majority or the House or to the office of any other committe leader and give them a letter showing numbers and cases, real families that are suffering and requiring them to do something about it. If you agree, I would suggest to prepare a small database with all the cases that we know, then prepare a letter and send it to the Congress leaders.
I think that we would need the following information:

3. Your Employment-Based Category (EB1, EB2, EB3, Other Worker, EB4, EB5)

So that means you know nothing about how IV works, no point in arguing about something you don't know anything about. You can rather spend time on figuring how cows fly.
