I would suggest IV to setup a seperate Chinese (or Hispanic) contribution page to diverse the culture background of IV members.
Hmm.. thats a good idea.. At least have a one opening page in Chinese / Spanish to bring in more people.. I hope IV does that later.. Of course they would need volunteers for the translation..

This is depressing at best but lets take what lifes throws at us(in this case USCIS) and turn into positive.
We should have some action items and follow through. Below I have comeup with some as starting point..
1. Prepare campaign materials, message (short and long), stories etc regarding this backlog.
2. Pass it along to media. Schedule meetings with Senators, congressmen through state chapters and educate them.
3. Volunteer in our communites as groups and spread the message and hopefully get some media attention.
4. Contribute to IV for lobbying.
5. Stay positive and don't stress too much regarding the GC.
Ideas don't cost us much but what we need now is actions.

Opened SR 0n 08/18
(Really nice IO by name Maria, who helped me create SR. She advised me to have my spouse call too for her case.)

We really need help and support from IV'ans like you to make this initiative successful. We really need to raise our targeted funds and meet the goals of Team IV for this year.

Whatever you earn from Trading is taxable as your earned income. On the flip side if you ve made losses there is a provision for some tax deduction as well . Contact a good Tax consultant

I keep seeing the term 'LUD' and 'soft LUD'. What are they? Where do you notice them?
Soft LUD - Only the date for the Last Update Date changes but the actual status and the message do not change.
Hard LUD - Not only the date changes, but both the status and message change as well.

Heck man he is from Stanford. He is EB2. How dare we lowly Eb3's challenge him. He can say what he wants. He is blessed with good fortune (read EB2) we are not. His suffering is not limited to GC. He is a tower of strength. In fact he reminds me of Atlas. Eb2 is one good thing in his others tough miserable life.
But misunderstand me not. He does not need your sympathy. He is a superior being, he is EB2. He should he admired and worshipped. Pray accept my homages. And if he says IT is a miserable industry just quietly nod your head and acknowledge and say "Master Eb2 what should I do discard this life of professional misery" and he shall deliver his wisdom.
And last but not the least be thankful to him. He has invested his stanford brain to offer us harsh but few paragraphs worth of wisdom on a Friday evening while the rest of us are out to drink or rejoice with family and friends. He choses to have none so he may offer us salvation. The sheer volume of his words astounds me. Thank you sir! I think you should sleep now, so you can wake up early and engage in a wise yet energetic discussion with us lowly Eb3 folks early in the morning who shall wait in earnest for you to vocalize your deep reflections on life and Eb2

Honestly I don't even see a point for these discussions, polls or predictions for EB3-I. The sooner we accept we are doomed the better. The only way out is to help ourselves but I don't think many EB3's are willing to do that.
I spoke to several in my office with earlier EB3 PD's (who might not even get GC's in the next 5-10 years !) and of course with EAD's and they have literally substituted EAD for a GC. They were once a part of IV (and some similar org's ?!) but now have completely lost hope and don't care. after filing for I-485 on Jun 1. Also filing for EAD for self and 3 family members. EB3 Nov 2001. H1B stamped in visa valid till Oct 2008.

YES, I am. Exactly same situation and did a lot of research. There is a good new for you man.
As far as I know, you can file for AOS and leave. Make sure when your application get's to USCIS you are here in US, after that you are free to go. You do not need to wait for the reciept. It takes weeks to get the reciept. When you come back you enter US using your valid H1-B/H4 and it does not effect your AOS application.

So got I-485 approval email for self and wife last night at 11:30pm MST.
My American Dream journey:
Came to the US in 99'Fall for MS.
1st GC Labor applied in 2002 but got laid off due to bad economy.
2nd GC Labor applied in 2005 then changed company.
3rd GC application in Jun'06 and still with the same company.
Center : NSC.
Priority Date: June23rd'06
