It is not that simple. The soundex algorithm will change the spelling of each name (F, M, L) and do multiple combinations during the name check process. So a Sita can be become Seeta or Satyendra may become Satinder and so on. So don't count your chickens as yet:)

I have a question regarding this whole idea of filing on your own:
Whats the reason for doing this? Is it because:
1. Attorneys will be busy during this time
2. Employer will not file 485
3. Bad Experience with Attorneys
4. Anything else please explain
If 2, whats the guarantee that he will not cancel your LC/140 once he knows that you are filing on your own?
Sorry about bringing this up. My employer is ready to file 485 but not EAD and AP. He says if we don't renew our EADs on time then we will be out of status and hez seen lot of such cases. Can I file EAD and AP on my own and let my employer file 485?

Maybe we can use the H-1 B reform bill, to recapture unused visas during the last many years. Make H-1 B tough but at the same time, release those green card numbers. Carrot and Stick approach.

I Went to the Local USCIS center on 08/02/2010. IO mentioned that Name check and FBI check had cleared. But he could not tell if my case was assigned to an IO. He asked me to open an SR. I called the 1-800 number and opened an SR on 08/03/10. I got a standard email from USCIS for the SR I opened, on 08/11/2010. It said that my case and my wife's were both were under review and it would take up to 60 days for them to process it.
On 08/13/2010 8.03 CST, I got a SMS on my cell that My case status was updated. I had received that Card Production was ordered on 08/12/2010.
Now, I am waiting on my wife's approval.

I received a SR reply in mail that my case is under additional review . MY pd is sep 05 and i am so frustrated. They also asked to check back after 4 - 9 months. Is there any body in that situation and what else can be done .. please advice..

Now about the staff at Heathrow. Surely anyone with eyes that work can see most of them are not British at all but immigrants of some variety or another. A true Brit is a very friendly individual. I believe that we will get 14-15K from EB2 ROW, EB1 = 12K (currently) + 6K (Minimum), regular cap I/C 6K. Eb2 row usage is down to 60%.
Total Numbers = 14 + 18 + 6 = 38K.
Now total demand is not just 34K demand data we also have porting and new filings especially from May - Jul 2007. My assumption of porting has been 6K out of which 2K have been approved.
So really its almost an exact match till Jul - Aug 2007. We should wait for the May bulletin thing to come true firts I believe VDLRAO gave a great calculation for that.

I just called USCIS using POJ method. Nice IO . She took time listening BUT same darn response.
I had opened a service request on 9/8 . I recieved a letter stating to wait for 6 months.
IO told me ,all the name check, FP are cleared. No RFE.
Since SR is open, wait for 6 months.

My wife filed for greencard in Oct 2006 under the Schedule A category where she filed for 140 and 485 concurrently.
We got our EADs in November 2006. Later my company started my GC process(priority date is Nov 2006). I talked to my attorney about my 485 filing and she says that I should go ahead and file my application but only Adjustment of Status and not AP and EAD along with it. I should however give the reference of my earlier reciept numbers while filing my 485. My questions are:
1. What happens if my wife's I-485 gets denied? How will this affect my I485 process and our EADs?
2. We have not applied for AP and also didn't get our medical examination done when filing my wife's 485 application. Can I do these now when filing my 485?
Please advise.
