I am actually very dissappointed with myself. In the post rally MC fluster, I had made a mental note to introduce Logiclife and then give him a flower. But I hear he strongly opposes measures such as this :)

It is explicitly mentioned that quota is over for "year".
I always thought that DOS issues the visas to USCIS and that this is done quarterly. If this is the case, how can USCIS say that all visas are used up for this fiscal year when we are only in the 3rd quarter? Would they not be obligated to wait for new visa numbers in the 4th quarter? How can USCIS allocate more visas than they actually have. This is strange!

Please check your spam folder if you do not see a email from IV as yet, number of times genuine emails get into this folder when emails are sent through a mass email program. Put IV's email address into your address book and next time it should come directly to your Inbox.

It does say "thumb print of applicant or legal guardian", but I see no value in signing for them - there's no way to identify the child if I sign there... If they write thumb print then you can always provide it. Infact, it is there so that even the old people who cannot write can give their thumb print. So it won't hurt. Also, it looked to me that they are not too picky(like USCIS).

I predict that the EB3 and EB2 cutoff dates for India will reach close to each other with in next one year. At the worst, the differnce between EB2 qnd EB3 cutoff dates may be maximum of one year.

No body is forcing any one to do any unethical things that applies for consultants as well as consulting companies. If any one does anything illegal they will meet the fate of Enron, Anderson or CA.
No one is forcing any one to work for a desi consulting company, If anyone does not like them they always have the option of choosing a new employer or leaving the country.
No company is going to pay for a consultant if consultant does not deliver what client wants.
Hope economy will be strong no one has to see tbe bad days of 2001 and 2002 which I have seen personally .
Just recently two american mortgage lendors have laid off people in Southern California without any consideration for immigration status. These companies have people of all kinds which include "US educated" and direct H1s and their green card applicaitons in various stages. All these people have to start all over again. I feel sorry for these guys.
All the guys thinking about H1b "reform" think twice before what you wish for.
It may come down to a point they we may not want to pursue this struggle,
iam not discourgaging anybody, but any EB reform will face stiff opposition, they will attach lot's of riders to it. At the end people will wonder is the EB reform is even worth with so many strrings attached to it.

I havent received any emails from IV. I have a valid email account and verified twice. I haven't received a single email or newsletter.
Now its not a big deal as I have been following up all the events through website and also contributed..
But wanted to get it to the admin's attention so that they can check if there is some software glitch. There might be people like me who havent been receiving emails and are not visiting the website on a daily basis..
I have used my email address and phone number to sign up for the monthly contribution. I have not received any emails so far. I wonder if other members have received any. I think most members may have no idea about this recent action. Maybe it's not because that people would not contribute. We need to try our best to bring more members here.

2) Remove the country cap for employment based immigration (the argument we should put forward is that when it comes to employment based immigration the deciding criteria should be individual�s skills now where the individual was born).
3) Capture the unused Visa (Green Cards)
Exactly, it is okay to have country cap for those who are coming in through lottery or for those who come in through family based GCs. But for employment based GCs, it should be the skill that matters, not from which country he comes from.

My wife is entered into US on H4 in 2004 June and we applied H1 for her and got the H1 in 2005 for validity till 2008. we went to vancouver for stamping and the consulated given us 226(g) and asked us to go to india for stamping. From vancouver we entered into US by showing my h1 and she entered into US on H4. In 2007 - I applied my H1 renewal and at the same time applied my wife H4 and got the H1 and H4 without any problem.
My question is can we renewal my wife H1 ? I mean can she get new H1 or renewal H1 ? because my wife H1 validity is till sep 2008.
please suggeset someone and help me out.
