I keep seeing the term 'LUD' and 'soft LUD'. What are they? Where do you notice them?
Soft LUD - Only the date for the Last Update Date changes but the actual status and the message do not change.
Hard LUD - Not only the date changes, but both the status and message change as well.

Also, lot of EB1 guys working through consulting companies - negotiate there Green Card to be filed as EB1 before joining them.
And Consulting companies can show anything they want..any hierarchy/structure etc.
On the other hand, actual PHD does have lot of knowledge , publishing paper is daunting task which needs lot of research and originality.
A lot of Desi Consulting Companies do these kinds of things. They can cook up any resume and any requirement.
Real PHD guys who worked their asses off day and night in trying to publish some worth while papers are not getting consideration for EB1 and these DCC guys with a bachelors in any discipline and 5-7yrs experience can become Multi-national executives and fall under EB1.
Nothing helps us legally working people with US Masters Degrees who have been living as law abiding citizens for years.
One of my friends who did Bachelors with me in India came to US on h1B and actually bought his EB2 Labor back in 2005 through a DCC and now has a GC. He never even told me that he did that. He told me recently after he got his GC.

Sent my PP for renewal few weeks back and I got it back in 2 weeks.
For me it looked like SFO is pretty good.
I applied for my renewal in SFO and got it back in 2 weeks. I also applied for my daugther's PIO card around the same time. Got it back in 3 weeks. SFO seems to be the best

Nice post, i came to the US in 1996 for my masters, followed all rules to the T and got stuck. I am on my 4th AP and EAD (5th if you consider OPT). I think main problem is that we are trying to solve too many issues with limited ammunition. Start with a single point agenda for the short term...lets say recaptuing unused visas or something that is the least controvertial and focus on pushing it at every available opportunity. Currently we see a new proposal everyday and all they do besides encouraging debate (which is good) is motivate bystanders to distort the issue and divide the group.
Agree with 485Mbe4001. We should focus on recapturing unsed visas. I dont think so we will see CIR this year. Before other groups pushes for Anti h1b or gc laws. we should start somthing on recapturing or removing country cap. OR atleast some admin fixes. I understand CORE is waiting for time to do aggressive campaign but what if dont get CIR this year ? I think We are thinking to play only defensive game here. If some one try to hurt us in H1b or GC bill then we will do campaign. Lets do not wait for antis to start.

Did you choose the option 'your case is outside of the processing time'? Call them again and tell them it is delayed. SR (probably) was the key in my case.
Congrats Masterji. BTW, how were you able to open the SR. I called them this morning and they told me that my PD became current yesterday so I should wait for 30 days before calling them back.

If someone is responsible for the current state of affairs in the H1B area , It is Indian firms . The H1B1 was started in 'GOOD FAITH ' by United States to help people from "all over the world" to come in and work in the US , but large Indian IT houses have overexploited these loopholes so much that we are currently in this sorry state of affairs .

It is US INS responsibility to ensure no one (mostly Indian IT companies and small companies in US operated from bedrooms, not basement or garage!! :) those created in garage are HP and GOOGLE) can exploit it. So blaming TCS and WIPRO and INFY and PATNI is not enough!! If we don't protect our house and thief exploits that to rob us that is our fault. This holds true for US INS too. And don't assume INS didn't know this. No exploitation is possible without Govt's active or passive approval. This is one big ecosystem and all have their share. That is how all businesses are operated across the world. Immigration is one of the biggest businesses here. And they want this chaos to exist for their interests.

Possibly not. But it has to reach USCIS and I was thinking of getting through the liason process of the senators / congressmen.
If IV can take up this effort, then there is a channel that we can get through. But I dont think it is going to happen, because of the infights. Even if USCIS does'nt react, we can use this process to challenge the intrepretation and show them the mess that they have created. May be that will help
